The name Bharathanatyam is of relatively a possible origin of the name is from "Bharatha Muni" who wrote the "Natya shastra". The word Bharathanatyam combines "Bhavam" means "Expression" , "Ragam" means "Music" , "Thalam" means "Rhitham" and "Natyam" means "Dance".

Salangai Niruthyalaya is one of the most popular and leading Classical Dance BharathaNatyam Institute in Tirupur District.The institute was founded by Smt.Devika Vadevel in 2007 for Classical Bharathanatyam dance in Avinashi name it as "Salangai Niruthyalaya",Run by Smt.Sampoornam Memorial Educational and Cultural Trust.

In 2007 Devika founded Salangai Niruthyalaya with the intention of committing herself to the propagation of the classical arts. The aim of Salangai Niruthyalaya is to create good and passionate Classical Dancers.
